When it was reported that Tiger Woods was in an accident at 2:25 AM, you just knew that life as he knew it was over. However, no one could have predicted the magnitude of what was to follow. His indiscretions were not simple lapses in good judgment. His dalliances appear to be a long-standing way of life for a man most thought to be the most idealistic athlete in history.
Make no mistake: Tiger is not the first or last wealthy, powerful man to be unfaithful. His cheating ways put him on a long list of famous adulterers. However, today’s media-madness feeds on these types of stories. And while many say they’re already tired of the Tiger-watch, I know of no one who isn’t abreast of each and every update. People love scandalous stories – especially about sex.
At first, when it was thought Tiger strayed from his beautiful wife once or twice, I said, “oh well, nothing new – just another athlete who shouldn’t have taken marriage vows. He’ll get through it, as have most great athletes and powerful people in the past.”
Originally, I believed this to be a personal matter between Tiger and Ilin Woods. However, as the “notches in his belt” continue to rise, plus new alleged ties to a doctor under investigation by the FBI regarding illegal drugs, this is beyond personal – and has become the biggest story since O.J. Tiger now has to answer to more than just Ilin. He has a responsibility to the sponsors that have paid him hundreds of millions of dollars to represent their companies. He needs to explain his life of lies.
None of us is perfect. There are many adulterers among us. But Tiger is more than a cheater. He’s a corporate fraud. He has let down his fans and the industry that helped make him a billionaire.
Unfortunately, the Golf Industry will support him….because it needs him.

How has he let down fans? How is he a fraud? Anything for a story. He gave everyone a treat for 10 years and that was his amazing golf game. That is where he made his money and why he has sponsors. Not because of his private life. Man some people make me laugh. Only mistake he’s done is unfortunately get married as from what i have read it was clearly not for him. I feel sorry for his family, and him as i am sure he does indeed regret his actions now. Not cause of money or image as those will be back as soon as he starts winning tournaments, but the hurt he has done to his wife and kids.

Sure he regrets his actions NOW. He got caught! He should have thought about his actions while he was living a lie!

Tiger’s marital problems may be the least of his problems now. If we find out he cheated on the game of golf, he’s finished.

Without Tiger, the PGA is in for a long summer.

I agree that Woods is a fraud. He has made a fortune as a spokes person by representing character, honesty and integrity. Corporations used his image because he was supposed to represent those qualities. Unfortunately he doesn’t seem to have those qualities. with his personal credibility at an all time low he still has his golf career. If it’s true he used performance enhancing substances he won’t even have that left.

How perfect. According to breaking press reports, Tiger Woods is planning a move to France. It’s just the place for a serial philanderer to camouflage himself.

The problem here really is Elin Nordegren. If she just gets on TV and says this is all no big deal, she accepts it so we should too, then Tiger will be in the clear. Also how many guys would not wanted to be married to Elin Nordegren then? She would be massively popular (instead of frigid)! But right now Elin stands in the way of Golf history and a billion dollar industry counting on Tiger to feed their families. Elin married an athlete, so she should understand the way they are and take the good with the bad. If Tiger was not getting some on the side then she should really start worrying. Also, it is less work for her to satisfy the Tiger’s needs. The only thing she would really need to change in her life is using condoms and regular STD checks… because SDTs are nothing to mess with. Tiger is like Gladiator Maximus, he needs to be in the ring, and Elin needs to get out of the way. And a Gladiator needs his women. And we, the fans, need the Gladiator. Maximus! Maximus! Maximus!

Are you kidding me, Intrepid? Your blog entry has to be intended only to generate more comments. No one could be that foolish.

So, the Athlete of the Decade, eh? Good choice considering his athletic accomplishments on courses and in bed. He’s challenging both Jack Nicklaus and Wilt Chamberlain!

Ridiculous. People buy these things for two reasons: performance or envy. Articles such as this completely distort the reality of purchasing trends and behaviors. This holier then thou stretch of reality where marketing and morality is interwined in a state of harmony until Tiger’s liasons came along is non-existent. The same impressionable minds you apparently think have been mamed are in their rooms right now watching MTV’s Jersy Shore. Keep your pious blather private, like one’s personal intimacies should always be no matter there extravagance. Half of marriages end in divorce in this country, so let’s not pretend we don’t know from early life that Daddy’s and Mom’s don’t always do Mommy’s and Dad. This whole event is a footnote not a header, that’s reserved for “Greatest Golfer Ever” not “Advertiser Extrordonaire.”
