I think "MEL Allen" is a fake moniker for Bud Selig. Don't know where you're from "Mel", but it is YOU who needs to "get a life". Can't help but notice you've posted twice.....we get it dork.......you HAVE NO LIFE. But for those who live near Cooperstown, and for all the kids, it is a CRIME that this game will no longer be played. Enjoy new parks in NYC, enjoy the 9 dollar beers, the 35 dollar parking, enjoy TRYING to pay for this stuff. Only those who have experienced the game and its parade and HR contest can truly know what's been taken by Greedy Selig and his pack of fools. SHAME ON THEM.

You guys should worry about something important like the price of a gallon of gas....rather than picking on Bud. He actually does care about both the history of the game....and the fan......

Personally, I couldn't care less if a Hall of Fame game is played in Cooperstown. If I want to catch the Pros, there are 30 stadiums from which to choose. When I go to Cooperstown, it's to see the Hall of Fame and its content - not the selfish, overpaid players of today.

With that said, get over thinking Selig and MLB really cares about the fan. All they care about is the fan's money. Other than Exxon/Mobil, they are the ultimate capitalists!

This game should have been put to bed years ago. It's a showcase for Double A players. The Major League teams have held their players out for more than 15 years. Inter-league play made this game a dinosaur. Forget about this game. I'm with Bud.....

"Any fool can tell the truth, but it requires a man of some sense to know how to lie well," wrote Samuel Butler sometime when baseball was already the national game.

After reading Bud Selig's letter, it seems he has neither the sense to lie well nor any intention of truth telling. A schedule problem? Too demanding on two teams to make the little trip to quaint Cooperstown, and such, would not be in the interests of the game?

But it's not too demanding for the Red Sox to play jet lag tag for three weeks in service of MLB's worldly ambitions? Mr. Selig, you need to hire better PR guys.
